Sales Controller

Our client is looking for an experienced Sales professional to join their site Leadership team in their culinary ingredients site in the Midlands. They are looking for someone who can provide commercial leadership, liaise closely with the European Retail business account managers and manage the day-to-day trading for all customers outside of the current retail structure.
Person Specification:
• FMCG, Food & Drink Background.
• Has an entrepreneurial approach to new business, whilst at the same time can demonstrate a strategic & methodical style when establishing the true size of a market.
• Is charismatic, credible and persuasive in managing key stakeholders, SLT and the existing indirect commercial team.
• Can utilise strong financial rigour: strategically in how to direct the future state resources and operationally in managing the immediate customer opportunities.
• Able to absorb the issues, tough & tenacious. A conceptual thinker who is also curious & enthusiastic – quick and able to think on their feet.
• Commercial experience of key retailer / key category / B2B accounts together with relevant negotiation ability and a growth mindset to build lasting relationships.
• Excellent working knowledge of the retail environment, will need to demonstrate a sound understanding of costings, margins, forecasting, promotions, and the impact of commercial decisions on P&L.
• Has demonstrable ability to grow Retailer and B2B relationships through joint business plans and has experience of contributing to long-term (15-24 month) thinking.
