It can be a real struggle to get your steps in while working from home. Many of us rely on the gym to get our exercise, but with them being closed we have to look elsewhere to get some physical activity.
Regular exercise has been shown to not only help us physically but also mentally. That is why we are trying to promote getting out and exercising while working from home. We are giving the ‘Steps Challenge’ a go. So how does it work?
We have split the JSD team into two groups. Their challenge is to work together to get out for walks, runs, or jogs every day to get their step count up. At the end of the week the team with the most steps wins! So far, we have found our team are getting out and getting more steps than ever and feeling better for it.
The great thing about this simple competition is that it promotes physical and mental well-being at a time when we could all do with a boost to how we feel. It also promotes teamwork and encourages some friendly competition which makes the challenge fun and exciting. We would definitely recommend this simple challenge to any other business that are thinking of fun and meaningful staff activities through lockdown!
